Leah Griffith, a dedicated community leader, has been named Summit’s Volunteer of the Year
Mayor Elizabeth Fagan, MD, honored Griffith during the Summit Common Council Organization Meeting on January 7, 2025.
Griffith’s extensive volunteer work includes serving as Chair of the Mayor’s Task Force on Homelessness and President of the Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad. She has also contributed significantly to The Summit Foundation as Grants Chair and Board Member, and to Family Promise since 2005, culminating in her role as National Board Chair.
«Leah embodies what it means to not just live in a community, but to actively shape it; to not just see problems, but to roll up her sleeves and work relentlessly to solve them,” said Fagan.
In addition to her volunteer roles, Griffith is a mother of four and has been actively involved in her children’s schools’ Parent-Teacher Organizations, demonstrating her dedication to both her family and the broader community, Fagan praised.
