“This is a historic time for the Fire Department in the City of Summit,” Fire Chief Eric Evers said at the event. “This is the first real, brand-new firehouse to be built, and it’s an honor to be here.”

The state-of-the-art firehouse boasts modern upgrades, including enhanced living areas for crews, a new operations center, and a larger Bay Area to accommodate fire trucks. These features are designed to improve efficiency and safety for the department as it serves the Summit community.

Residents are encouraged to visit the new firehouse for non-emergency fire-related needs. Ample on-site parking is available for easy access. For emergencies, residents should continue to dial 911. Non-emergency inquiries can be directed to City Hall at (908) 277-9400.
