Local artist Elisabeth Antoine features more than 30 of her original oil paintings, resin masterworks, and 3-dimensional multimedia creations. Born and raised in France, Elisabeth pursued a career in medical research in Paris, yet always knew art was her true passion. Upon moving to New Jersey in 1998, she left the medical field and started teaching private art classes while creating original artwork in her home studio space. Since then, Elisabeth has exhibited her paintings and artwork in galleries and public venues across New Jersey and in Paris. Elisabeth is awestruck by nature in its absolute perfection, and her work celebrates the beauty of our world as well as the complexity of our humanity. Her paintings strive to capture some fleeting moments and inspirations, to translate them on canvas as to freeze them in time.

Mary Kooi is known for her vibrant colors and captures the essence of landscapes from serene forests to seascapes. Her work invites viewers to explore the beauty of the natural world and encourages a dialogue about the appreciation for our environment. Kooi’s paintings serve as a visual escape of the landscapes that inspire her. Mary happily transplanted from Chicago in 2000 and works as an Outside Sales Representative for British furniture company George Smith.  Kooi is currently a student at The Visual Art Center in Summit and is a student of professional artist Valeri Larko.

The “Art at Overlook” program highlights the work of artists in the Overlook Auxiliary & Bobeck Gallery halls of Overlook Medical Center. Program exhibits rotate every three months, and all of the art displayed is available for sale, with twenty percent of the proceeds benefiting the Overlook Auxiliary. The art is open for viewing during normal visiting hours.

The exhibit is sponsored by the Overlook Auxiliary, a charitable organization that supports Overlook Medical Center with volunteering and fundraising efforts. Founded in 1916, the Overlook Auxiliary has approximately 300 active members and has contributed more than $21 million to the Medical Center community since its inception.
