Coach Wins National Honors
The Reverend Kathryn Irwin is the new pastor at Calvary Lutheran Church in Cranford.
Westfield High School Track and Field/Cross Country Coach Christopher Tafelski has received national recognition for a 2nd time for his leadership and performance during the 2023-2024 school year.
Tafelski was selected by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as the 2024 Boys’ High School Track and Field Coach of the Year for the State of New Jersey. According to the USTFCCCA website, state-by-state winners were selected based on their teams’ performances throughout the 2024 outdoor track and field season. This prestigious recognition follows Tafelski’s recognition last fall by the USTFCCA as New Jersey’s Cross Country Coach of the Year.
