Tell us about Family Faith Formation at Holy Trinity in Westfield!
The Office of Family Faith Formation at Holy Trinity is primarily responsible for providing religious education to the parish youth and oversees a multitude of ways for families to engage with the parish community. We offer children three different programs to help them grow in their faith and work toward receiving their sacraments.
The core of Holy Trinity’s offerings is a traditional Sunday school model. Children attend classes led by dedicated and talented catechists on Sunday mornings before Mass.
We also offer a dynamic Summer model. In this model, children receive religious instruction alongside engaging activities during a week-long summer camp.
Holy Trinity offers the Faith at Home program for families seeking a more hands-on approach with flexible scheduling. Parents or older family members serve as primary instructors, guided by materials, lessons, and ongoing support provided by the parish. Regular check-in meetings ensure families feel empowered to nurture their children’s faith journey.
All families are welcome to partake in parish gatherings and events throughout the year, further fostering their sense of belonging and connection.
Are there any upcoming events?
All families are welcome to partake in parish gatherings and events throughout the year, further fostering their sense of belonging and connection. Holy Trinity’s calendar is brimming with opportunities for families to come together in worship and fellowship. Some popular annual events include the All Saints Day Scavenger Hunt, Nativity Pageant, Family Game Nights, Parents’ Night Out movie and craft events, Advent Wreath Making, and Saint Francis Blessing of the Pets and Pet Costume Celebration.
Holy Trinity strives to enhance the worship experience for families. Resources like the weekly Children’s Bulletin, Mass “busy bins,” our Lending Library, and weekly activities are available at the Faith and Fun Center. Additionally, the Children’s Liturgy of the Word program offers a unique opportunity for children to delve into scripture in a kid-friendly manner, complete with interactive activities and discussions. Families are given opportunities to actively participate with various local organizations and initiatives like Project Backpack, the Giving Tree, and Covenant House, spreading goodwill within the community.
Holy Trinity is gearing up for Spring Sacrament Season, with more than 50 children celebrating their First Eucharist and nearly 80 teens celebrating Confirmation. The summer will be abuzz with our continued CLOW Masses and summer camp weeks. We can look forward to SARA’S SUMMER CONCERT and an all-new opening of the year event slated for Catechetical Sunday, September 15th.
