What is Best Friends Dog & Animal Adoption?
Best Friend Dog and Animal Adoption, Inc is an all volunteer organization that is committed to providing a safe haven for rescued stray and abandoned animals by supplying them with medical treatment, food, and shelter until their adoption. It is our mission to help as many dogs and cats as possible by placing them in loving homes because we value the life of every animal entrusted in our care.
Can you tell us more about the Best Friend Thrift Shop?
Best Friend Thrift Shop has been around for almost 20 years and is run by dedicated volunteers. All merchandise sold is donated from local vendors, supporters and patrons. All proceeds from the shop go directly to our adoptable cats and dogs medical bills. The thrift shop is located at 1750 E 2nd St in Scotch Plains.
Do you have any upcoming events we should know about?
Our next official event will be our Spring Tricky Tray at the Shackamaxon Country Club. We are aiming for Saturday, April 20th, 2024.
How can the community help?
The community can help in many ways. We are always looking for volunteers to help walk dogs at the boarding facility we use in Hillsborough. We always need monetary, food and supply donations. We are looking for volunteers to work weekly at our thrift shop and help to facilitate the creation of our tricky tray baskets by helping to collect brand new merchandise, gift cards etc for the baskets.
Anything else we missed?
We have been a local rescue organization dedicated to the local communities for over 25 years. We mainly service Middlesex and Union counties but also do adoptions all over New Jersey and some parts of Pennsylvania and New York.
