Where/why did you get your pet? 

We got Drayko at our local Pet Supplies Plus store in Garwood. At the time, he was a tiny little “fit in the palm of your hand” size pet. Only a couple inches long.  It was a birthday gift for our youngest son Aiden who really wanted a bearded dragon.

Anything special or unusual about your pet?

He is just a calm and super chill reptile, usually loves to just hang and loves to sit in the window in the sun.  I can leave him on a pillow in the window for HOURS.  He just sits there and falls asleep.  I can leave the house and he just lies there like a statue.

Any funny stories? 

He used to love sitting on top of the power box from one of our TV plugs (because it was warm), so if he happened to be on the couch, he would scurry to the edge of the arm rest of the couch and would belly flop off onto the floor. You would hear a loud splat as he landed, then he’d scurry off and situate himself under the cabinet  to go sit on that box. He would also sit there for hours. Just that process of him jumping off the couch with a destination in mind was funny to me!

What do you like best about your pet? 

He is very chill, doesn’t bite, and just likes to hang on your shoulder. He is so easy and doesn’t make a mess.  He has gotten HUGE!

How has the pet enriched your life? 

He has just been a pet that brings joy to mostly me. Sometimes I wonder if the rest of my family realizes he is even  there most of the time.  I would have never guessed that I would someday own a bearded dragon.  Pets, no matter what, are a big commitment. I have learned a lot about bearded dragons, and it gave me new insight to this type of pet ownership. And in the end, he has become MY pet!   But seriously, isn’t that how it usually goes? Lol!
