What is Hailey’s Day
of Kindness?

Hailey’s Day of Kindness was a day started in honor and memory of my niece Hailey Merolle. Her parents, Jillian and Ryan Merolle started this day to celebrate her birthday and the anniversary of her passing. Each year they ask their friends and family to perform acts of kindness and share on social media with the hashtag #haileysdayofkindness so they can follow along.

I decided that maybe if I could provide refreshments and a place to gather as my act of kindness, that people would show up with donations for other organizations. Each year the event has grown and it is amazing to see just how many people show up .

How can the community help?

The community can help in a lot of ways! First, they can perform their own act of kindness and share on social media so that we can see the kindness being spread in Hailey’s honor.

Or you can donate directly to the charities (be sure to write in memory of Hailey Merolle).

The charities are: Pockets of Light, Cranford Family Care, Feed My Lambs (St. Michaels Church), Moms Helping Moms Foundation, and CASA of Union and Passaic County.

We are always so amazed by the ways that the community shows up, how the local businesses contribute, and the way this event grows each year. I want to specifically thank Sweet N Fancy, Home Power Yoga, Woof Gang Bakery, Hot Yoga Revolution and Anthem in Cranford for always offering to help without hesitation. The event wouldn’t be possible without each of them.
