Village Green summer concerts and movies, Community Night

The City of Summit Department of Community Programs is announcing the schedule for summer movies and concerts on the Village Green, located at 356 Broad Street in Summit.

 

Hot Summer Nights

Presented by Citizens Bank, the 2023 Hot Summer Nights Concert Series will feature a variety of bands on Tuesday nights during July and August. The lineup includes Total Soul on July 11, the Nerds on July 18, Austin City Nights on July 25, Changing Lanes on August 1, Audio Riot on August 8, and Brian Kirk and the Jirks on August 15.

Concerts begin at 7PM and will be accompanied by food trucks. The second night of the concert series, Tuesday, July 18, will serve as Community Night.

Community Night

The City of Summit is announcing its annual Community Night will be held on Tuesday, July 18, on the Village Green, located at 356 Broad Street. The event will be part of the Hot Summer Nights concert series and is an opportunity for Summit non-profit organizations to promote their work to the community.

Participating organizations can begin setup at 4:30PM and be ready for visitors by 5:45PM. Organizations must provide their own table and chairs and are permitted to have one table that is no longer than eight feet in length. Pop-up tents are permitted and must be no larger than 10 feet by 10 feet in size. No fundraising by participating organizations is permitted during Community Night. Department of Community Programs staff will be available to assist organizations with set up on the night of the event.

Beginning at 7PM, the Nerds will perform as part of the Hot Summer Nights concert series.

The rain date for the event is Tuesday, July 25. To participate as an organization, please sign up online.

Screen on the Green

The 2023 Screen on the Green Movie Series will also take place on the Village Green, on Thursday nights in July and August. The series will feature Lightyear on July 6, Minions: The Rise of Gru on July 13, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish on July 20, Turning Red on July 27, and DC League of Super-Pets on August 3. Each night, a family dance party will begin at 7:15PM, and the movie will be shown at dark. Attendees may purchase food from the featured food truck of the week.

All concert and movie attendees are asked to bring their own blankets and chairs. There is no cost for admission to concerts or movies. All events held by the City of Summit are alcohol and tobacco-free.
