Holy Trinity School students send their love to the troops

The students of Holy Trinity School share their faith and support of others in various ways each month. Some months they sacrifice and bring in food for the food pantry, others they bring in funds to support various charities. Each February, the students in all grades create valentine cards for the brave men and women who protect our country.  The handmade cards from students in kindergarten through grade 8, are sent to the Westfield Armory to be shared with the service men and women. On February 16, Captain Corporal Cody H. Scheidle and Brian Payor visited the school to thank the children in person for the cards and to present them with a certificate of appreciation from the NJ Army National Guard Delta Company 1st – 102nd Cavalry Squadron.

Several students who represented some of the classes who created the cards met with the soldiers and learned that the unit will be deployed next year. The students promised to continue to remember the members of the unit and continue this tradition for years to come.
