What do you love about the Summit/Chatham area and why do you consider it such a special place?

What I really love about Chatham and Summit is the quaintness of these towns.  They have the traditional town centers with local shops, where you can walk down their main streets to have a bite to eat at one of their great restaurants or do a little shopping.  It truly is like “home town” America and there are not a lot of towns in New Jersey that offer that.  I spend a lot of time in Chatham and Summit with my family and I think it’s a very special area.

What do you hope your work does to enhance the lives of area families?

Practicing family law for nearly 20 years, I hope that my work allows people to transition through the various phases of their lives. Whether it’s a “conscious uncoupling,” a contentious marital dissolution, or a post divorce issue related to their children, I hope that my involvement in their experience will allow them “to come out on the other side” with greater insight into their family and themselves in a happy and healthy way.

I work very closely with my clients, including many from the Chatham and Summit area, to help them keep moving their lives forward and not get stuck in the past.  This is the best outcome after a relationship ends, not only for themselves but for their families as well.

Why is the women’s empowerment organization B.I.G. a valuable resource for you?

As a long time member and sponsor  of the B.I.G. organization, the relationships I have developed and what I have learned has been invaluable to me both personally and professionally.  It’s such an authentic place where women can connect to grow their businesses, share their ideas, get assistance with their personal issues in a safe and welcoming environment.  It’s great for the community to have a resource like B.I.G.

B.I.G. offers women the inspiration, community and tools they need to move their lives forward. Chatham area women can contact Cathy.Maloney@rate.com and Summit area women can contact melaniewilsonsummit@gmail.com and to attend a complimentary B.I.G. meeting.
