Leading up to the Super Bowl, the Saint Patrick School Builders Club organized a spirited “Souper Bowl” Fundraiser, encouraging students to donate food pantry items and personal care products. To add some fun, students used their donations to vote for their Super Bowl pick—the Eagles or the Chiefs. The results were in: Saint Patrick School predicted an Eagles win with 780 items donated in their favor, compared to 362 for the Chiefs! Cranford High School Earns Gold with Access Recognition by College Board for 2024 Advanced Placement Program School Honor Roll

College Board announced that Cranford High School has been named to the 2024 Advanced Placement Program School Honor Roll, earning “Gold with Access”. Cranford is one of four public high schools in the state to earn this recognition. For schools to be recognized on the AP School Honor Roll, they must have 40 percent or more of the graduating class take at least one AP exam during high school; 25 percent or more score a 3 or higher on at least one AP exam; and 2 percent or more of the graduating class took five or more AP exams during high school, with at least one of those exams taken in ninth...

Westfield High School students have been recognized for their exceptional academic promise as Commended Students in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program.  Westfield High School 12th grader Garrett Gao has been named a 2025 National Merit Semifinalist, among a nationwide pool of about 16,000 semifinalists who represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors. Westfield Board Appoints New Athletic Director & WHS Assistant Principal

At its regular public meeting on May 7, 2024, the Westfield Board of Education approved the appointment of James DeSarno as Director of Athletics / K-12 Physical Education and Health Supervisor, effective July 1, 2024.  DeSarno will succeed Sandra Mamary, who is retiring after 37 years in the Westfield Public School District, 14 of them as Athletic Director. Students Perform at Carnegie Hall

Members of the Franklin Elementary School chorus performed at Carnegie Hall with the New England Symphonic Ensemble and several other choirs from the tri-state area on May 26.  During the week prior to the performance, Parisian conductor and choirmaster Francis Bardot worked with the children in New York City and conducted them during the concert. Holy Trinity School students send their love to the troops

The students of Holy Trinity School share their faith and support of others in various ways each month. Some months they sacrifice and bring in food for the food pantry, others they bring in funds to support various charities. Each February, the students in all grades create valentine cards for the brave men and women who protect our country.  The handmade cards from students in kindergarten through grade 8, are sent to the Westfield Armory to be shared with the service men and women.
