The 7th Grade Girls Summit Basketball Club team won the Jersey League Basketball Championship on Sunday, in a big comeback victory over the number-one seeded Branchburg team at Ridge High School in Basking Ridge, NJ. “The girls played their hearts out and, with aggressive defense, timely shooting and big foul shots, they pulled out the victory in front of a big crowd,” said Coach Evan Bashoff. The team finished the season with an overall 14-4 record.

Summit Track Stars Compete on the National Stage

Congratulations to the twelve Summit track runners who competed in the New Balance and Nike Indoor National Championship meets this weekend in Boston and New York City. The Girls Sprint Medley Relay team of Keira Borst, Maddie MacPherson, Ava Garvey, and Maddie Chen placed 12th at the Nike Nationals at the Armory in NYC with a season-best time of 4:23:88. Summit Dog Park at Municipal Transfer Station Opens

The Gould Dog Park at the Municipal Transfer Station is now open to dogs and their owners, accessible to all Summit residents with a valid transfer station permit. The park will be open Tuesday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is closed on Sundays, Mondays, and holidays. The dog park is named in memory of Matt Gould, a dedicated Ward One Council member who passed away unexpectedly in 2019. Summit High School Theater’s Cast of ‘Anything Goes’ Hosts Elementary School Tap Workshop

On Wednesday, January 31, the cast of Summit High School’s upcoming musical ‘Anything Goes’ hosted an exciting tap workshop for more than 50 students from elementary schools across the district. In attendance were fourth and fifth-graders from Brayton, Franklin, Jefferson, Lincoln Hubbard, and Washington schools.
