Reeves-Reed Arboretum, a non-profit public garden in Summit, New Jersey will be celebrating the holiday season with its annual Festival of Trees: A Multicultural Celebration of the Holidays. Like many times before, the call went out and the residents of Chatham answered. I witnessed firsthand the selfless actions of our community doing what they do best, coming together in times of need. First responders come in all forms and this time, it was the members of the Chatham Community Forum who came running to help. A simple post triggered a frenzy of responses – sincere and heartfelt messages within minutes, followed by bags of clothes and anonymous grocery-store gift cards left on our porch within hours.
