Growing with the Y: Turning a Passion into a Career

Alicia Castro discovered her passion at the Y, starting part-time in School Age Child Care (SACC) during her senior year of college. When she needed to fulfill an internship requirement for graduation, she turned to the Y, knowing of their wide range of volunteer opportunities. She landed an internship in the marketing department that aligned well with her field of study. Westfield Library Right-sizes Collection, to Add More Space for Meeting Rooms

As you may recall, Westfield Memorial Library hired professional consultants from Library Development Solutions in 2020 to evaluate the library and make recommendations for improvement. Their space assessment, and later the library’s 2021-2024 strategic plan, called for reducing the overall size of the library’s collections to better serve Westfield residents. Coach Wins National Honors

The Reverend Kathryn Irwin is the new pastor at Calvary Lutheran Church in Cranford. Westfield High School Track and Field/Cross Country Coach Christopher Tafelski has received national recognition for a 2nd time for his leadership and performance during the 2023-2024 school year.
