Can you provide a bit of history about your organization?
Students Against Cancer is a club that is dedicated to raising money as well as awareness for the American Cancer Society. Our ultimate goal is to organize the Relay for Life to join together our community to celebrate the survivors, remember those we lost, and to encourage those who are still fighting. This club started a few years ago by Grace Tortorella and has been raising thousands of dollars each year for the American Cancer Society.

Hilltopper senior Lily Spinner has been selected as Summit High School’s ‘NJSIAA Scholar Athlete of the Year’ for 2022-23. She is a three-sport star, having been the starting goalie on both the Maroon and White’s Field Hockey and Girls Ice Hockey Teams, and plays attack on the defending New Jersey Tournament of Champion Girls Lacrosse Team.
She holds the record for most career wins and shutouts in Summit High School Girls Ice Hockey program history, and was named captain of both the Ice Hockey and Lacrosse Teams.
Describe what your company does. How long has it been in business?
We have been in business since 2015. We do A LOT of different things, including: sewing, knitting, and crochet classes for kids, teens and adults, private events, girl scout events, “Sip and Stitch” classes, summer camps, and craft fairs PLUS we have a modern, full-service fabric & yarn shop that supplies avid crafters! We got our cats during the pandemic two years ago from the Cat Crew Rescue. They are a super fantastic organization that helps to house abandoned cats.
