For the 58th consecutive year, the Santa Claus Shop will open its doors to area families to provide complimentary holiday shopping. The Shop serves more than 1,500 low-income family members and senior citizens from Summit, New Providence and Berkeley Heights. From November 21-23, 2024, the Chatham High School Theatre Department will present their fall play, Peter and the Starcatcher. The Tony-winning play, based on the best-selling novels, upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan boy becomes the legendary Peter Pan. The play provides a backstory for the characters of Peter Pan, Mrs Darling, Tinker Bell and Hook, and serves as a prequel to J. M. Barrie’s Peter and Wendy. For the first time, all Kindergarteners attended school full day. Lafayette welcomed their first 3rd grade cohort with all new classroom furniture; marking the beginning or the grade reconfiguration.
